For what its worth the car said 2c this morning at about 7!

Wall to wall sun and fairly calm. Going to be a "carboard across the screen" sort of night I fear.

First frost on my car of the winter season this year.
Really late, this time last year had plenty of frosts by November iirc.
Tonight looks like being colder again.

I can hear the rain pelting down outside the house on both sides of the house( from inside) , tis a bit wild :) (loving it!).

It's a €100 for a taxi from annamoe to Dublin airport by the way under the new "metered system" .I overheard that from Paulo as he was dining at a table 2ft away from me last week...

    Anyhow

It's gone very windy gusting to near 30mph at ground level again.

Think its only about 230 metres or so, but am surrounded by much higher peaks that rise rather steeply close to me, Annamoe I suspect is a bit of a frost hollow.

Its consistently about 2c colder here than at work which is in Loughlinstown on the car thermometer so would imagine am just over the temperature borderline for a typical 2-3C at sea level sleety event in winter at sea level.

I'll post some piccys of the area in the coming weeks, its pretty nice imho if you are a bit of a nature lover.

Temp has been rising steadily from about 7:30, it's now back up to 7.4C, humidity is falling, which is sending the dewpoint down with it, dewpoint now down to 2.4C.
Edit: just noticed why the temp started to rise, a feckin sea breeeze has come up, or land breeze or something , because the wind direction has shifted to ESE and it was SW

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,033 ✭✭✭Snowbie

Every 150 meters you go up,temp decrease by 1c.So your about 1.5c to 1.75c colder than at sea level for example.
