Thanks! Ignore the rainfall readings for now. Doesn't seem to be picking up the daily totals.

    Otherwise all seems fairly accurate.

No significant cold is likely given that most of Europe and southern Scandinavia is snow free... except on the highest mountains-even western Russia is snow free!

Some beautiful gusty side-ways rain out there today.

no rain, but temp has been above 13c since 8am with a max of at least 14.2C, which is what the temp is now.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,436 ✭✭✭✭Supercell

Temp dropped pretty fast after the front here.
Getting frequent rain showers , temp fluctuating between 5°C in the dry and 4°C in the rain, wouldnt be suprised to see some of the Wicklow mountain peaks to have snow on them in the morning.

I'm a little lower than you about 90% of the time it seems.
More than likely this is due to the inaccuracy of my Oregon Scientific remote sensor and the fact that its stuck to a sapling (at about 4 feet high) in the middle of a field :) (probably cools too fast under open skies).
    Reading 4.0°C right now.

    31 - 52kts

14.1c here and gusting to 38mph,a big shock to the system over the next few days when temps will plummet.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,436 ✭✭✭✭Supercell

Popped into the Sallynoggin Tesco on the way home this evening and the car thermometer was reading 15.5 there, must have been registering too high, by about 1.5-2°C would be my guess - still bloody mild!!.
Have to say it did feel like a windy late summers evening though.

Going to be a massive shock to the system for many soon given the run of mild winters we've had recently :))

    Bring it on!!

Temp dropped from 7.1c to 4.5c but DP held at 2.5c.Rain has cleared now and sun back out.

Dew point here is 1.5c in a temp of 5.5c

I fully expect that DP to go sub zero on monday given it's so low now in a westerly.

Just had a gust to 46mph here-Brrrrr in that temp.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,033 ✭✭✭Snowbie

Temp is not recovering well at all.Back up to 4.9c.I think it might max here now to day and for awhile to come over the following days.Air has that crisp clear feel to it now.
    VP2 predicting snow.

OK - We have the first covering of snow on the wicklow mountains in this spell.

Just a faint dusting at the highest levels. Note the time - 12:00 on Sat. Should get more as the weekend progresses.
