Very high alright, maxed out at 13.4C here

Well my AWS and Met Office screen are in total agreement with a max of 15.2C, my 2nd highest winter and Jan max on record (1999). I got one hour of sun, and the temp shot up from 13C. It was above 14C for only 40 minutes.

It was a westerly breeze and the mountains delivered the goods even though the breeze was light. I was well aware what the other stations were reporting.

I'll be surprised if the Met Office don't question me when they go through the monthly return.

Remarkable January temp there Mothman, amazing just how high temps can go in January with just the right conditions.

Noticed that there was fires (gorse burning?) in the Devils Glen direction before turning off the N11 this evening.
The upstream effect seems to be fog, was some pretty foggy spots on the way home, no smell of smoke, so assume the extra particles in the air must be helping the water in the air to condense where it wouldnt usually.

Dead calm and clear here, temperature down to 2.4°C and dropping like a stone.
Looks like a pretty sharp frost tonight if conditions like this remain.

+0.3 here, calm, lovely moonlit night.

I'd say we'll definitely go negative tonight and I'll have a record low since my records began - 7th Jan!

Longfield, I notice that my weather station is about 2 deg lower than my old car in/out thermo. Probably because the station is out in the garden while the other one is hanging out the kitchen window over a patio. During stormy conditions, they are roughly the same. You noticed that I was getting higher temps during the cold spell in Dec - this is probably the reason.

Stunning day today after an overnight low of -4.4°C.

Drove to Dublin today and was like another world, was foggy and yukky, not even freezing fog, totally different to here which got to 8.5°C in blue skys.

The fog seems to have travelled south , is currently 0.4°C and falling, hopeing it doesn't chill much more before tomorrow morning, don't fancy driving to work in the dark with everything coated in rime beautiful as that may look on a Saturday or Sunday!

I refuse to go outside anymore today (Central Illinois). Right now, ~-10C and with the wind chill ~-21C. Not much different tomorrow or for the next few days. :(
