I was just shopping in Ashford and could see that horrible stratus muck just to the north, would guess its cloudy from Newtownmountkennedy northwards. Hopefully it doesnt make it any further south and starts to break up as the day goes on.

Yes, I just drove up from Newtown to Ashford. All cloudy in Newtown and lovely blue skies in Ashford. Looks like there is a boundary line there...

Lovely blue skies here but I can see all that cloud to my North. 17.2c at the moment with quite a fresh northerly breeze.

It is as almost as if the low stratus clouds are being forced around the wicklow mountains to the north of them.

Very odd shapes there alright, curious v shape in the midlands too, don't think there's any significant mountains there though.

Strange one indeed.Like eddies in the cloud. Can understand it for the mountains but the midlands????

Totally overcast here this morning, given the clouds persistance yesterday over the north its not looking good for sun today here.
Looking at the latest satellite picture, the far south should do well again today.

There doesn't appear to be any breaks in the cloud here; looks like the weekend is going to continue depressingly dull :(!

looks like its gonna continue to be a dull, cloudy, slate grey weekend, had about 6 minutes of sunshine yesterday and nothing today so far.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,433 ✭✭✭✭Supercell

Intermittant sunshine here today, probably about 6 octas cloud cover.
