Further up the county, the sun has made an appearance. Temp hovering around 5C but with the bit of wind means ditto with the cold. Might escape the showers today.

Winds are howling here now-I was nearly blown off the road while walking home. Showers are less frequent that yesterday but it's very cold.

Torrential for past 90min or so. mean wind reaching 30mph with gust above 50mm. Heading for 25mm rain for day with 8mm during past 90min. It actually sounds heavier with the wind.

Nope! I'm not from Dublin...its a seafaring expression (alegedly)

"Cold enough to freeze the balls off a brass monkey".

Try google and see what comes back. :)

    Mike.

Wow, looked out the window and saw the frost. As near to a snowfall as I usually get. Coldest temp of winter. The poor moorhen are skating on the lake. Looks like a sunny morning will follow.

    COLD!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,813 ✭✭✭sunbeam

Frosty start here too, but the lakes didn't freeze. :)

Clear, calm day-almost springlike. A few clouds drifted in from the coast after sunset.
