From the Met Eireann forecast for Connacht:

'' Mild and breezy. A little drizzle here and there. Damp on coasts and hills''

I'd love to know exactly how they define ''a little'' drizzle. I went out for half an hour and my coat is dripping puddles on the kitchen floor.

Perhaps all the "here and theres" converged and ended up in your area?

Logged 12 minutes of sun today
On a day like today I'd wish the heavens would just open and get the rain over and done with. Being mild seems little compensation for all the grey clouds

It took a while but quite mild now with very slight drizzle
but had been dry if fairly dull.

Absolutely beautifull day here in south Wicklow today.
The suns been shining since daybreak, the only clouds are in the distance and its mild.
Indeed it's about ten degree's which in fairness is half twenty... :)

this afternoons weather for the county of waterford (middle section by the coast)

not beautiful but dry, mild and overcast. as i look out my window now i see some miniscule patches of blue in the sky, not enough for a sun tan though!!!!!!. wind is pretty non existant too. it was nice down by the pier earlier where some person was filming something with what looked like an army video camera (all decked out in camoflage) and with that i have realised i am gone off topic

    apologies

Unlike the sun-kissed Man of Arklow, east Waterford
had been pretty damn dull, not like wot the Met men said it would be.

    Mike.

5hrs of it in sunny Wicklow today. Now under the clear sky a deep frost is setting in to question the Met Eireann forcast
"A few cloud breaks also allowing some mist or fog and a perhaps a touch of ground frost locally. Lowest temperatures 3 to 6 degrees"

Air temp here is 1.5C with grass temp at -4C

Mild and cloudy on the Mayo coast today. Could see a few hazy bits of blue through the cloud, but no sunshine.

Flippin yo-yo. Temp back up to 8C
Obviously a bit of cloud cover has arrived.

Its not beautifull today but its a variation of nice, all the same, there was a hint of blue attempting to break throught those clouds, but never quite managed it.
But as long as that hint was there, even though it was dull and it was dry, I'd call it kind of nice.

    no I havent been drinking...

That's enough use of that 4 letter word, though after the next couple days, I may even think that today was "nice"

Perhaps at the weekend we'll start getting a real winter with cold sunny days and a few snow flurries.

    a few snow flurries.

Actually both yesterday and today I had a good view of a still snow capped lugnaquilla- nice!!

I would have thought the cloud level would have been a bit low today?

yeah it was shrouded for much of the day but not around three or four.
And certainly it was very visible around noon aswell.
