    Today was dull, cold, rainy, hailstoney, and miserable.

    Ach it's windy as a fothermucker this morning, trees leaning over sideways and rain that seems to come from all directions at once.
    Although the gloomy overcast is starting to lift, so we should expect sunny spells into late afternoon.
    And we can see this high-pressure belt moving eastwards by lunchtime... hmmm, think I missed my calling in life :dunno:

    STORMY

    Strongest winds here in Wicklow since at least Jan 2003. Gales and gust 70mph+ across much of country.

    strangely the wind has only got up here in south wicklow in the last hour or so and particularlly in the last half hour.
    Its blowing like mad now.

    Very gusty in theese parts too, the rain seems to have stopped for a while but I don't see that lasting too long. :(

    Today was a day for staying in bed (which I did as I'm choked up with flu).

    Could hear lots of wind and hailstones and am reliably informed that it was also cold, overcast and miserable.

    Yes it just skirted south of me but I did see the lighening and at least 6 rumbles. In the sunshine at moment with another shower approaching.

    Just got what I consider to be the edge of a heavy shower. Still got hail and the temp dropped from 10.3C at 1430 to 4.4C at 1500. The main part of shower passed to my north.

    Indeed I drove through it I think.
    Heavy hail.

    Drove through another one on the way back , lashing on the Arklow by-pass but bone dry here-ah the wonders of nature :)

    I also noticed the big temp drop with the outside temp on the dashboard.

    Warm in the sun and out of the wind :)
    Beefy black shower clouds all around , but just missing here thankfully.
    Lugnaquilla is snow capped since sunday-looks positively alpine up there.

    Heavy hail shower just a while ago with a few big snow flakes thrown in for good measure. The hills nearby are snowcapped. Don't know what the temp is here - I reckon it's mid single figures.

    And 20 miles down the road, the sun stayed out.
    Felt warm too for the first time in a while in a hardly noticable light breeze.

    Lug is still snow capped.
