You beat me to it. However it stayed to the south of me, so I don't have to worry about about phone etc. In fact while I listening and seeing the lightening, the sun was shining. About 10 rumbles heard in less than 10 mins.

Had a bit of hail earlier as well. Another v. dark cloud approaching, and this might go overhead. It has just blocked out sun. Don't hear anything though.

Indeed, quite heavy stuff with very poor visibility as I drove down through the Glen o'the downs.
Raining and getting windy back at home base here now.

Well mothman I have a good one for you!
I drove to Dublin at Lunchtime and the sun came out at Loughlinstown with the outside temp on my jeep already reading 19, it reached 20 as I headed into town.
And you could notice this heat as walking around in a t-shirt was fine
Back here in South Wicklow and it by 4pm was reading only 15 down here, and there was a light shower on the Arklow By-pass.
Thats some variation for less than 40 miles.

This doesn't come as a complete surprise as I'd noticed on one of the Met Eireann hourly reports that both Casement and Dublin Airport were reporting fair and temp at 17 or 18C. I thought then that we'd get sunshine here but no, the day is brighter but I don't recollect any sunshine. Will know in an hour when I read todays sunshine card.

At one stage I could count 10 of them to my NW

Otherwise the day was mostly sunny with a coolish breeze.

And actually there are still some of these clouds to my NW though not nearly as spectacular looking as the ones earlier.

Glorious sunshine all the way in Wicklow. Hardly a cloud to speak, higheat temp of year here.

Lovely sunny day here so far and feeling quire warm.
The sunshine is milky now but still very nice.

No rain here yesterday, although it got quite cloudy, but despite that,the sun was still popping out in the late afternoon.
