Hi Much milder this morning and hte temperature rising

You'd be surprised though some wet snow later
tonight on the back-edge of that rainband
is possible

Heres a snapgshot at midnight of the precip type notice quite a swathe
of snow on it and spreading east, The likes of the Wicklow mountains
should do very well

much milder today, dull, wet and still some lying snow in our front garden but its gettin very patchy now should be fully melted in next 2 hours unless temperatures tumble again

i doubt it will snow this evening except on very high ground, isnt the weather meant to get really mild this week as in tempatures of 12-14C ?

Yes around Thursday temperatures should reach around 13c
but tonight an intnese cold front is expected to move down the
country and temperatures will tumble for 24hrs

Very squally of late with wind gusts and plummeting temperatures now
at 7.5c. Knock at 200m ASL is rporting snow showers at 2c

The cold air will swing south in a few hours aswell as a few intense showers

Sunny and cold in wicklow this morning -temp 2 degree's some clouds to the west.

Temp now 14C :eek: in the sunshine

down to 0.2C before dawn, so a dirunal range of nearly 14C

currently 11c here blue skies to the north-cloud currently obscuring the sun though

That's quite a difference over a few miles. I maxed out at 14.0C which is a record for December here, though I only started in 1999.

I could be getting a slight foehn effect but think it would only be of the order of 1C or so,

The sun didn't impact on the temp, it was already up there.

Gas-the temp rose to 12 after it got dark.
back at 11 now.
Dunno why there would be such a difference between where you are and me.
Though there was a near 2 degree difference also during the snow.

The NRA arklow bypass temp is 13.1 for 703.

Here's a graph for today. The top part had temp and dewpoint. Temp is still holding up and has been a constant 13.6C for nearly the past hour. Note the wind direction. Never seen it so variable. Its all over the place.

Even warmer than yesterday with 14.4C so far. Only a little sunshine and breezy.

I'm at 278ft Asl but I don't think thats enough to effect temp too much,we're always a degree colder than the town tho but I put that down to the lack of the "built up effect" here.

Maybe this is just a cool spot?

Noticed Colwyn Bay in North Wales got up to 16 yesterday, thats some variation on near zero on Xmas day!

Meanwhile for a brief time this morning I saw a still snow capped lugnaquilla,before it was shrouded again in cloud.
