Started my Eircom broadband 2 month free trial on the 12th December.
Just checked my download stats today and I have dloaded over 20gigs so far !!! Limit is 8gig.

So now will they come looking for the best part of 600 euro. From what I have read in the forums here, it looks like they are not charging people who go over their cap yet ?

Also - its a free trial and I have read nowhere on the broadband t&c's or eircoms general t&c's that I would have to pay for breaking the cap. I definitely would not be signing up with them for the year if they charge me. What is the position there ?

    thx

    I guess mostly torrents.
Novelty has worn off now and I plan to stick to my cap.

However, even if Eircom were charging for going over your cap, could they honestly charge someone during a free trial ???

    Thanks Tuxy. Good to know.

Any idea why they are not charging yet ?
I wonder is their metering software innacurate or something ?

i watch internet tv and radio that eats up alot of the cap

atm moment its 0 cent per meg as eircom do not charge for breaking caps

    .........was only joking........ :D

I don't regard 40 yoyos a month as exactly buttons...and to think you might have to be watching what you're using,it's like dial-up only a bit faster...

Well I dont know what I will do if they come looking for 500 euro + in January !!! I guess I will say to them I'm on a free trial and their t&c's says nothing about caps. But hopefully I'll get away with it like everyone else.
