Tyre manufacturer, Michelin, has announced it will re-enter Formula One in 2001.
The move is sure to spark a tyre war in the sport, which has been supplied solely by Bridgestone, after Goodyear pulled out at the end of 1998.

Michelin reportedly plans to supply tyres for the Williams team and Toyota's new squad - which plans to make its Grand Prix debut in 2001.

'This decision is part of our worldwide strategy. Racing, and Formula One in particular, present a very strong potential in terms of communicating our technological leadership,' said Edouard Michelin, chief executive of the Michelin Group.
