No, what are these 'Livejournals' you speak of?

  • Hosted Moderators Posts: 2,094 ✭✭✭halenger

Not sure if I have one. I'm useless at keeping those things anyhow. Best I did is my journal on DeviantArt but that's only about an entry a month, at most. :)

Diaries never really were my "thing".

Why bother with an online diary? am i just being cynical or is there even a point in it... surely it would be less hassle (if you were to keep a diary) to do it with a pen and paper?

Well, I don't know about you, but I type waaay faster than I write.

So ranting is a lot easier.

And it doesn't necessarily have to be a "diary", you dont have to write down your feelings or what you did that day or anything, it's basically a space for you to... write whatever, ranting or whatnot. And it's nice to be able to get feedback about things, now and again.

yeah, it seems like a good idea, I've joined anyways.

It's just that most online journals (blogs, btw) are generally full of either angst or sh1te.

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,851 ✭✭✭PurpleFistMixer

    Usually both.
    But you just ignore them.

Or slag them repeatedly in your own one, whatever you want.

I've seen some very funny blogs written by friends of mine.

my own are usually crap, but meh.

There's a big thread full of them if you look through the board from about four months back.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 8,880 ✭✭✭Raphael

But don't post on it...or else!

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,034 ✭✭✭✭It wasn't me!

Yeah, I originally typed, "there's a big thread full of them if you drag up the archives from about four months back" I spotted it quickly and rephrased it though. I have no idea why but I've actually used this livejournal dohickey. Go figure.

Thank you very much, twas very helpful!!! But Christ, the amount of posts I had to wade through by people whining that there *was* too many posts and not enough photos was head wrecking...

    Don't worry, I didn't post!!! :p

    Thanks guys!

BTW, I know it's the wrong thread but happy one year, 6 months and whatever days with Cat to Aonghus. That is some feat given the distance. Congrats dear!!! :o

online diaries - would you tell your inner feelings and emotions to a roomful of strangers?

  • Registered Users Posts: 13,034 ✭✭✭✭It wasn't me!

Only to take the piss and annoy them. :) But no one reads mine anyway so I'm safe enough.

no, but you can set entries to private if you want. then nobody can read them.
