im a bit confused about this keep our word campaign, I thought the big campaign was for the 0.7% to be given by a certain year?

someone mentioned it in a tsunami thread and I saw a pick of Bono and Tom kitt smiling and asked what was the ministers whose governement is refusing? to give 0.7% GDP? in overseas aid? out of the states coffers? standing there smialing , isn't he the person not keeping his word...

they replied that there are jsut trying to imply they are working hard on it too?

ok so i read the millenium developement goals

    Goal 1
    Eradicate extreme hunger and poverty.
    Goal 2
    Achieve universal primary education.
    Goal 3
Promote gender equality and empower women.
    Goal 4
    Reduce child mortality.
    Goal 5
    Improve maternal health.
    Goal 6
Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria and other diseases.
    Goal 7
    Ensure environmental sustainability.
    Goal 8
Develop a global partnership for development.

at first I thought how do you quantify or ensure they happen by 2015 but I guess you can...

does this not contradict the drop the debt idea....

    Goal 8

Develop a global partnership for development.
Global aid needs to double from 50 billion US Dollars
to 100 billion US Dollars per annum, if the Goals are to be
    achieved.
