    hi,

I've got a very annoying problem with my eircom dialup connection. I signed up for an Eircom flatrate connection which is fine except that after 15 minutes exactly my connection goes dead. i thought it might be a problem with my firewall blocking signals from the ISP or such like but having turned the firewall off the problem was still there.

Obviously I've checked to make sure all my idle settings for turning the connection off if it's idle for a number of minutes has been set to the max or "never" if possible - but still no joy in solving the problem.

I've run virus checking software and the like and they keep giving me a clean bill of health but I must be missing something - has anyone any suggestions on what I should do to try and tackle this annoying problem??

    Thanks

    Olly

Sounds like you're still dialling the setup number 1890 something or other, that 1890 number only allows you stay connected for 15mins. ;)

Check the number you pc is dialling, which flat rate account did you sign up to??

    Flatrate 25 - 1893 25 25 25
    Flatrate 60 - 1893 60 60 60
    Flatrate Anytime - 1893 150 150

I'm ringing 1890 201564 - I'll switch to the 25 flat rate number and give that a go and report back - Thanks!
