    There's also a very odd pop-punk kinda version of 99 Red Balloons. Anyone know what I'm talking about.

    It's by lagwagon as far as i know...

    Xentrix - Ghostbusters :)

    Totally agree with that. Xentrix did a live version of Ghostbusters on Dilute To Taste i think?, with the start of Summer Lovin from Greese as the intro. Absolutley fantastic.

    I don't know if anyone has mentioned it but A Perfect Circle's cover of Imagine is really good.

    They are one of many. Goldfinger did a good version as well where, they change to the German version in the middle.

    The band that covered Bohemian Rhapsody!!!!

    What band? And was it a good or bad cover?
    The only covers I've heard are by Elton John and Axl Rose (good) and that gang from Pop Idol/You're A Star/Whatever.

    Good:
    *Crazy by R.E.M. (Originally Pylon, I *think*)
    *I Started a Joke by The Wallflowers (Originally The Beegees - first decent cover of one of their songs, IMHO)
    *Ballad of Peter Pumpkinhead by Crashtest Dummies (Originally XTC)
    *Have you ever seen the rain by Spindoctors (Orginally CCR)
    *Where is My Mind by Nada Surf (I LOVE the original by The Pixies, but I think they did a good job on this one ... nice ethereal quality)

    BAD:
    *Anything that Jessica Simpson covers
    *Anything Avril Lavigne covers *ecccchh*
    *Sixpence non the richer's cover of Crowded House's "Don't Dream it's Over"
    *John Rzeznic & Fred Durst's cover of Pink Floyd's "Wish you were here" - They should be castrated ...
    *Westlife & Mariah Carey's cover of "Against all odds" ... *cringe*

    My vote goes for Sid Vicious "My Way". Best cover ever.

    Muse's cover of "Feeling Good" I couldn;t help enjoying, even though nobody shuld be covering Nina Simone at all.

    I don't know the name of the band, but it's four guys in suits, the lead singer has blonde hair and it looks kinda like a Westlife video......................it definitly was a crap cover, the screwed up the song!

    [+]

    Shame [On Da Nigga] - System Of A Down {Wu Tang Clan Cover}
    Love Will Tear Us Apart [Again] - Squarepusher {Joy Division Cover}
    Dead Souls - NIN {The Cure Cover(I Think)}
    Immigrant Song - Coalesce {Led Zepplin Cover}
    Negative Creep - Tura Satana {Nirvana Cover}
    One {Live} - Korn {Metallica Cover}
    Biotech Is Godzilla - RDP {Sepultura Cover} OUTSTANDING HC VIOLENCE!

    [-]
    Brick House - Rob Zombie {Lionel Ritchie (He actually DUETS with Rob... I cry inside!}
    How Soon Is Know - "Some random emo band" (I think 100reasons) {Smiths Cover}
    Dracula's Mountain - Muse {Lightning Bolt Cover} I like muse but...

    If I could write this in blood I would. Top of my worst covers list for sure is Word Up by Korn. I actually left their amazing version of "Wicked" off of this list to keep it balanced. And that stupid video adds insult to injury!

    Not done yet... just gonna go mull over this some more.

    They also done a cover of Radioheads Creep, judging by the way they made a bittering mess of the Queen classic, i dont even want to think what they've done to Creep. They should all be killed slowly for crimes against modern music! :D

    Good:
    * Marilyn Manson - Sweet Dreams
    * Marilyn Manson - Working Class Hero
    * Metallica - Whiskey In the Jar
    * Green Day - Time of your life
    * Radiohead - Wish You Were Here

    Bad:
    * All Saints - Under The Bridge
    * Some boy band covered Queens We Will Rock You (Think it was Five)
    * Sheryl Crow - Sweet Child of Mine
    * Ronan Keating - Fairytale in New York

    Radiohead covered "Wish You Were Here"? Any idea where I can get my hands on that?

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,082 ✭✭✭Tobias Greeshman

    Yep, they also covered U2's Sunday Bloody Sunday. Haven't a clue where you'd get it (wish you were here), I used to have an mp3 of it, think I lost it, or maybe I still have it!

    You could try www.greenplastic.com and then go to the links section and go to every unofficial radiohead site (hundreds of them) you might be lucky enough to find it!

    Hendrix's cover of All Along The Watchtower is about the best I can think off.

    Pretty much all the covers on that Metallica MTV Icon sucked. Oh yeah and while I'm at it, that stand up comedy guy was **** as well.
