Ok i wasn't in my flat when they installed breeze
but the guy that was there said that the engineers
had the connection working on their laptop.

So the problem is with my computer !!!!!

I just can figure out the problem.

    I think i have the ip address,subnet mask,gatway and
    DNS server address in correctly.
I restarted and expected it to work.
    it didn't.
my motherboard has 2 lan ports so that complicates things
slightly but i disabled one of them so it isn't in the wrong port.

Is there something really obvious that I am not doing?

That's all you need Shiny.Should work away on that fine, double check the subnet mask as it isn't the windows default of 255.255.255.0.
