Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

No. Three newcastle posts in 10 minutes is a bit much dont you think. They could have all been done in one.

Not if Souness persists with Bramble. I'd like to see a back four of Baba-O'Brien-Boumsong-Carr but it looks like O'Brien is going to be sold on (interest from Fulham, Villa and the mighty rich Wigan). O'Brien needs someone like Boumsong beside him and I just hope Souness realises that before he ships him out.

people were complaing how non United fans(mainly I get by the gesture) spent more time posting about United than their own club .So these were threads I would have posted recently had anyone more than 7 or 8 posters and a dog supported Newcastle on boards .

Well he is unproven to the Premiership, it is hard to say. It isn't exactly difficult for most players to look like a good player in the SPL. I don't think that Babayaro and Boumsong are worth £8m.

But it might be just a little bit more difficult to look decent in a league that had a CL finalist last season and 3 teams qualified for the knockout stages this season. Not to mention the French national team...

    Simple answer - No.
Hes a money grabbing so and so, hasn't done it at international level either. Bad signing

Not a huge newcastle fan myself :D but its a hell of a lot better than watching people constantly whining about ManU (for or against, i dont really care).

For what its worth, I reckon Boumsong is a quality signing for newcastle and will finally get them going the right way. I dont think that babayaro will add any defensive qualities to the side though, he is quite similar to Bernard but more attacking IMO. Newcastle still need another CB though, O'Brien doesnt seem to have a long term future at the club, Johnsen is gone/going, Bramble is rubbish, Elliot and Hughes (and all the others tried there) seem to be to short or just not good enough. Tricky one.

Boro to be top NE club this year? :D

Boumsong is a good player. I am just amazed that Newcastle paid £8m for him

Anyway, here is a nice picture of him with his Newcastle Jersey :D

to be honest, im surprised rangers sold him!

he seemed to tbe the only one defending back there this year!

but its not 2 new defenders that newcastle need, its 4!
    oh, and another 4 midfielders.
such a small squad, and with a few players out, you can see just how badly newcastle have suffered. but it has been this way for the last 5 or 6 years. great team when all are fit. but 3 injuries, and there is just no cover.

"I can confirm that Newcastle have made a formal approach for Sylvain Distin with a bid in the region of £5m (€7.2m),'' said City communications chief Paul Tyrrell.

“We have rejected the bid as Sylvain is not for sale. He has three and a half years left on his current contract and is staying here.”

Oh for the love of god , we had him on loan with an option to buy , but no  .
He was used as a left back when on loan if I remember right . He's a good defender and I wished we had purchased him then .

Even if Boumsong turns out to be a bit of a flop, he will still be a vast improvement over that sham that is Titus Bramble. Bramble has got to be the worst centre half in the Premiership, terrible player.

I hate Bramble so much , why , why does he start and make at least two key errors a game :( .

we tried to buy him, but man city put in a bid before us even though we had first option on him.
Newcastle made a complaint to the FA but didn't succeed in the appeal :(

Boumsong is good but i don't think he is 8 million good (could be wrong!).
Distin and Boumsong would make a very good centre half pairing for us.

Babyaro cost 1mil and that may increase depending on apperances
    ASFAIK

we definetly need another centre half before the window closes.
as much as i would like to see O' Brien stay at newcastle i think that O'Leary would bring him on as a player much better than Souness will (Just thinking about the international team. :p ).

He's a money hungry mercenary that will be off the first time he gets a better offer. He had a deal to join Liverpool on a Bosman about six months before even taking with Rangers, then decided he wanted more money and tried to hold the Reds to ransom, which backfired when they told him to piss off. He ended up at Rangers and then first time another club come knocking - Newcastle - he's off like a shot. He'll only be at St James until he gets another offer.

In fairness, whether he's a mercenary or not, the Newcastle transfer was totally out of his hands.

If he's any use, and signs poitn to yes, he was wasted on the SPL. Rangers made a nice whack of cash for very little outlay and can strengthen their squad with it. Newcastle got a good centre half who's at least had time to get used to the cold and rough and tumble of British soccer, and Boumsong and his agents made a few bob. Not sure who should feel aggrieved here.

They already bought two players, whether they've strengthened their squad is another thing though. ;)

Funnily enough they had a £3m bid for Ferguson turned down today. Amoruso will be 34 at the end of the season.
