I have a package which may or may not make it over to me from the UK
by tomorrow (Friday). Does anyone know if FedEx delivers packages on
Saturdays? My guess is they do .. otherwise it is a pretty crap service
for the customer. I am just trying to make contingency plans for the weekend
in case the delivery gets delayed on Friday.

Also.. if I have the tracking number if I contact them to give them an alternative
delivery address as long as provide solid identification when signing for the
    package..

oh.. and just in case someone gets sarcastic.. It isn't horse urine sample
that I am looking forward to receive from FedEx !

You may get better results by ringing fedex's Irish agents, Nightline. I've given up dealing with fedex themselves once a package gets into Ireland as they cant seem to help/do anything with it, etc. Your fedex tracking number becomes the reference number on nightline.ie so you can get your nightline tracking number from there.

bkehoe - thanks for the info. Actually before I saw your reply I managed
via a few contacts to get hold of a local dial number (which I assume is
Nightline) to whom I was able to coordinate the delivery.
FedEx customer service were no help (seems to be patched to a call
    centre in the UK)

    thanks for useful info.
