Hey all, I managed to scuff one of my alloys today  . The damage is only on the outer edge.
It probably needs to be deburred or something. But can anybody give suggestions how to do the restoration yourself... i.e. trimite or something metal 'skin' like paint...
    Thanks in advance!

Post a picture and I'll give better advice but if the damage is cosmetic then either progressively finer grades of wet&dry sandpaper or any of the Dremel type of multitool will remove scuffs and polish the surface back up. An angle grinder with a 200grit flap-disc will take off major damage but MUST be treated with kid gloves or it will rip off too much metal (practice on your neighbours car...). The repaired surface will need to be lacquered to protect it and you can buy cans of suitable lacquer from auto factors.

If the wheel has been dented or flat-spotted then some tyre shops can straighten the damage with a copper-faced hammer but major damage needs specialist work.
