The only buck i shot this season, and one of the does, the buck had only this one antler for the last three seasons ive seen him for some reason, he had a mad long bent tine on the other side but no main antler. Does anyone know why this is so? Bad genetics?

i shot this dog fox this evening, a friend in school told me he often sees foxes around his farm. So i walked over for a look, i was only there 5 mins when i spotted a fox snoozing on a wall. i stalked to within 50m of him, getting caught on an electric barbed wire fence on the way. i set down and sent an eley sub in behind the ear, a solid whack and he rolled off the wall.

hope this uploads, there were quiet a few around, using the winchester subsonic super x 40gr hollow point, the rifle is a cz 452-2e zkm silhouette and a small hawke scope, zero at 100 yds, a few good shots were had, as was a good afternoon.

Big thanks to pullandbang, He mentioned that the canal in longwood was a great spot to get the dog swimming. There's an old foot bridge which is just to steep for the dog to cross. So to join up the other side with you he/she has to swim. Headed up that way today and after 5 mins calling her over and she running up and down the bank saying "the B***ard is gonna make me get wet" she took the plunge. After that she was flying ideal spot for anyone in the Leinster area looking to get there dog in the water..

Hi folks, I have been on here for a while now, mostly reading the posts and never made a post before. I am realitively new to hunting and still have alot of fieldcraft to learn, but my friend has many years experience. We where out on our farmers land the other night, and my friend had just recently bought a Ucaller. (What a Great piece of Kit) He shot a rabbit early on and we decided to use it as bait. He set it up 30-35 yards from the hedge we took cover in and we put it on and waited around 20mins. Next thing from the left this little Vixen came out and headed straight to the bait (and the distressed rabbit sound) My mate hit it with a .22 but must have missed or graized it as it turned straight to us and headed right for us, which was when I give it the good news with my shotgun. My first kill with my new shotgun, farmer well pleased as am I:).

PS gotta learn how to insert the pics.

Congrats i dont think much ppl can say that their first kill with their shotgun was a fox!

I can, aided and abetted by my dropper Bruce! 12g Baikal! Although on second thoughts it could have been a phesant, Not sure it was a long time ago. i know my first kills were a dog fox that my dog chased out in front of me

But well done all the same!

Just a pic of scope in twilight! Illum reticle
