I shot the crow at 130 yards last week. I was out topping and it landed in the field so I mounted the gun on the wheel of the tracter and nailed him.:D
I was out lamping last night and I shot the fox cub at 100 yards in the boiler house.;)

Farmer was getting frustrated with deer eating his barley.
So he applied for a section 42, I was nominated as the stalker.

So yesterday Bank holiday monday with the help of my two mates Paulo6.5 and the best spotter in Ireland Dev110 I now have two deer in the fridge.

As it was raining we only threw deer into the boot and brought them to Chez Dev to teach him a bit of butchering.

I picked up a few tips from Paulo who is some man with a knife.;)

Here is one of them, the other pics were poor quality as the rain was unnatural

lucky we even thought of a pic as we were under pressure for time as dusk is much later when approaching the summer solstice

Rang farmer and he was very pleased that he has 2 less deer!

Went for a walk with the dog and the .223 this evening.
Said id give the wigeon whistle a try and see what turns up, within about 10 seconds of calling a fox came bolting towards me didn't get a chance to set up with the bi pod had to shoot standing up which was hard cause the rifle weighs a ton!

Nice shootin there. The 17 is in my opinion the best rimfire you can buy. Deadly little round for bunnies. What make and model is the rifle?
    img00440201106142124.jpg
Sako Quad Synthetic Varmint; couldn't be happier with this setup.
To say i was surprised at the damage done when i went to collect Bugs is putting it mildly. But then I suppose thats what the ballistic tips are designed for.

Myself and buddy decided to go foxing earlier than normally: 9pm (normally it's in arround midnight at this time of the year). It paid off, fox got at arround 10pm and cub at arround 11.20. Isn't great to be home just after midnight and still get some sleep before mornings work, especially when we've two more on our count :)
