as they showd no fear of me whatsoever....not that I'm fearful, mind:p

It was actually a better day than that. I got a brace each of pheasants and partridges, shot and missed at three bolting rabbits flushed a couple of woocock and half a dozen snipe but didn't get a shot. The dog also flushed two coveys of partridges with about a dozen in each, I got the brace from the first covey. He also flushed about a dozen pheasants, mostly hens.
When I put back on my gamekeepers hat tomorrow and if the spring and summer are pretty good, it should be a good breeding season for next year............... I hope!! :pac:

Got this one this morning,first one with the Swaro BT Z5 mighty impressed. Dialed in the range from the RF went to the BT ring & spot on .Would highly recommend it.Deer taken at 250 yards Hornandy 150 grain BTSP as you can see from pic she dropped in a heap where she stood.

Very pleased & got two more permissions on the way back.Only trouble is now my back is in bits after the drag.

so decided to head back to our farmer friend tonight who loves to see us coming so after a quick lamp and a long chat we decided to head away ,just as we were leaving the end of the passage this pest presented herself at 200 yards ,so red filter on and squeaked her in to about half that and then unleashed the tikka which bit her lovely into the side and dropped her where she stood .so back up the passage to our again awaiting ,smiling farmer. RESULT (PIC TAKEN ON PASSAGE NOT ROAD)

Heres a dog fox I busted last night right next to the farm house. This one is for Kidare.17hmr, Ezridax and gearoidol.

Couln't do my signature shot as he had a broken jaw and the spent round wouldn't stay in his mouth.

I went out this afternoon as it was a good clear day and visibility on the mountains would be good. I was out last weekend and I saw a herd of deer and it was open mountain and when the fog came in I had to abandon it I was crawling in on them and they were six hundred meters out and the fog just swallowed them for the rest of the day!! I headed off down the mountain vowing to come back the following weekend! So, today I headed out late in the afternoon and walked along slowly and taking in the mountains as I went. I was walking along a ridge and it was over- looking a small oak wood a likely place for a deer to be feeding and sure enough I spotted three Sika does feeding beside a tree I lay down in the heather but I was too low and heather was too high so I changed position to a sitting shot and tried to be quiet as possible in doing so I decided to take the calf I was no more than 30 meters away from them!! I waited for a clean head shot and the calf dropped and the two other does ran on about ten meters and stood. I watched them as they ran off again over the horizon .A good end to the evening, as I walked the two miles to the car.

Got to use my new Davy Moore knife yesterday for the first time- was hoping it would be on a nice Hind but havent had the chance to get out in the day time yet. Was out with LB1980 after a few rabbits and spotted this one about 300 yards away. Set up and done a bit of squealing and when I turned on the light she was about 100 yards away and running straight at us. I shot her at about 15 yards and she was still in full flight. any way delighted to break in my new addition.:D

A days pheasent shooting last year with pigeon shooter and his german pointer, pointer locked solid on the two of them. two bangs and we had two cocks at our feet thanks to his 80 yard retrieves. Second picture is of a hours evening duck shooting that evening. Not a bad days shooting:D:D

got this lady last saturday,hit her well back in the lungs but she had the adrenaline up and ran to cover,the dirty so and so ended up in a drain,she taught she could swim:D

this last Saturday,real enjoyable morning had a long stare down(45 seconds) with a noble stag this morning ,turned a corner of a ditch & there he was not 30 yards from us snorting & believe me that close 45 seconds is a long time.Magnificent animal.
