Tried out the Magpie prop as seen on Utube the other morning with the air rifle! I'f i put in a bit more effort and used a rabbit instead of bread i would have had better results! Saying that, i think it works very well, and should have some fun with it, over the winter!!:)

The colours are very bright. If was a better bird weight & tail wise I'd have him stuffed. Might still.

Went out last week and took a chance and fired shots over my nearly 5month old pup Abbey. Everything went perfect thank god shot a rabbit she ran outta cover then on the way back to the Van. Anyway brought her out with my other older pup Odie sunday and low and behold the first field we went into got 2 woodcock off Odie, but got a retrieve on 1 woodcock with Abbey. So i headed home after that and went out for a hour Monday morning. 2nd field in Odie runs after a rabbit....but Abbey turns and runs to cover and up gets a woodcock and down he came. Abbey hunted and retrieved.....perfect start for her. And for myself my 1st 3 woodcock ever. Happy Days
