Got home late last night couldn't sleep no matter what up at 4.30 browsing net & sky news,got an inkling go for a shot.Changed rifle out binos hit the ground 6,25 decided to wait on edge of deer fence around 7.40 started walking.Loads of signs no sighting yet.Just about to give up & head for the road four deer broke cover low to the left BLR up to the shoulder middle hind taken at 90 yards.Pretty happy with the Zeiss HT the glass is exceptional & 0 reticle is very fast target acquisition .

Got out this morning for a couple of hours as i have my Xmas Party tonight so might be too sick tomorrow. met a Pheasant and had half a chance at him to no avail, met the rabbit just after that and killed him 1st shot, 2nd one i met i tumbled but he made it to ground(lucky ****er).......met 6 after that and didnt shoot one(cod eyed this morning), then on the way back to the van passing some sallies Oddie blew the woodcock out and was shot but still alive, shot with RC 9 33g i don't rate them atal!(excuses :P). My bitch pictured here and charlie10's dog pictured above did the business last week so should have a cracking litter of pups(fingers crossed) in 9-10weeks!!! 4th picture is of a woodcock shot last saturday!

10 Days to think about life.

Shot this lad this morning in a break in the rain. Was a really good retrieve for the bitch. Winged & fell running & a good chase. Will add to a video when I get a chance.
Got home & let her out of the box & she held & carried the bird for about 10 minutes before I hung it up. After some initial concerns things are really starting to click for her.
Never seen a pup so smart & good to mark a bird for her age & with more exposure to game & learning chances she could make a good one yet! A happy man today.

Yesterdays Bag, good dog work in bad conditions

Got out today for a few hours & a break in the crappy weather of late.
Few more birds including a nice coloured pheasant to the pups tally.
TIP: I started drying off the dogs on the tailgate now when I get back & I can't open it now without them jumping on it which makes loading them a breeze.

Soft day for a shot. Final bag of five pheasants, a woodcock, three snipe and a rabbit.

Myself and Charlie10's end of day bag, hunted mine and 1 of charlie10's springers up to 12(hunting again tomorrow), had 2 woodcock each and charlie10 shot a rabbit, met another few woodcock and 2 cocks but no shot, some nice retrieves and hard hunting.



Then switched my bitch and 1 of charlie10's springers for "the bulldozer"(charlie10's 2nd springer), if ye saw this dog ye would understand . Charlie10 was on fire shot another 2 woodcock and we shot a snipe each in rough conditions, met another 3 cocks but we were done by each one, also meeting a couple of woodcock that got away. Great days hunting. Today's bag, not bad for a bit of afternoon's shooting and got in just before the rain came back. Also got my 1st double snipe since i have started shooting, :D:D but as they were being retrieved i was loading 2 shells back into the gun and up got a cock bout 50 yards in front of me and i made a balls of it wasn't quick enough and he got away, i gave him the 3 but he was laughing at me.:( Followed him on but didn't meet him after that.
