One from earlier in the season. Took almost two hours to stalk into a suitable position. Wind was coming from the wrong direction. Was worth it though, you always remember the difficult ones :)

First season nearly over, got my gun, a Silma m70 28" friday before xmas. No dog yet so limited when I want to get out, but usually head with my friend who has dogs. Getting a dog soon.

So far iv bagged 6 snipe, 1 shoveler, 1 mallard, 1 woodcock, plenty crows, and hopefully after tomorrow ill get a pheasant. Happy out for first year of it.

Got the mallard this evening, 2 got up at a drain, steadied myself and concentrated on knocking one, missed them 2 weeks ago at same spot when 4 got up, shot too soon.

Delighted to say I managed to get my first pheasant today, left it late! 3 snipe too to top the day off. It has no white ring on its neck, that usual enough?

Shot this hybrid in Wicklow on a trip home from Deutschland at the start of the year. 200m, Shot with a 168gr a-max. It was a long long drag back to the jeep.
Most of it was made into jerkey and brought back along with the pelt for tanning. :D

That was her first season and she flew through it, all my shooting was over her and I ended with 5 pheasants, 6 woodcock, 6 snipe and a duck, she flushed and retrieved just about every one of them and didn't turn away from a bit if cover or water all season so can't really ask for much more than that

Anyone know what it is from?
Was thinking sheep because of the white fluff but then I seen the leg and I'm confused.
