I normaly wouldnt shoot fox at this time of year but the landowner of which i have sole access to, all 1000 or so acres asked me to take care of a problem he had which was Mr Charlie, therse not much room for concience when it comes to looking after your best intrest and a source of income which in his case is lamb, and mine(1000 acres). as i said, i dont like doing it but thats fox control for you, not hunting or sport or anything else. farmer was singing my praises to another farmer not too far from where i live and i might have permission on even more land, swings and roundabouts if ye know what i mean.

Got this fellow over the weekend. I was testing a new scope out on the rifle so I was really pleased with the result. 164 yards.

It is, it's not bad but you get what you pay for in the glass.
It's not a patch on the burris signature series for optical clarity but the handyness of the laser rangefinder built in and the ballistic plex makes up for it.
It's only a 4-12X so real small targets at distance are tough.
I'm still undecided if I like it or not, getting a bullet to match the ballistic plex trajectory was tough going, it's set for the 5.56 Nato.
The bottom of the reticle has staggered ballistic lines set this way:
    100 yards 0" (zero)
    200 yards 5"
    300 yards 18.3"
    400 yards 42.2"
    500 yards 79.5"
    and so on until 700
The problem is that most of the .223 ammo available in the shops is a lighter bullet with a much flatter trajectory so none of the lines match up. Burris suggested load is a 77 grain matchking @ 2750 FPS out to 500 meters.
I used a 75grain Amax @ 2446 FPS which matches up well on calculators and paper but I need a field trial to be sure.
Anyway I digress, it's not bad for the money and does what it's supposed to do. The rangefineder display is lit up so it's useful for the night hunters using lamps. I really did like my millett TRS-1 for a hunting scope so it's going to have a hard to win me over!
    Cheers,
    Ciaran
