How do I delete a thread that I started?

I set up a thread to sell some computer hardware and I got some of it wrong (very wrong in this case). I'd like to delete the thread and start a new one. I read the help and I have been able to delete my last post but not the first (which I assume would delete the entire thread). Anybody? :confused:

It doesn't work. Either edit the original post with the correct information or ask the moderator to delete the thread.
