This is the cycling forums charter.

Cycling Adverts
There is a dedicated subforum (Cycling Adverts) for selling bikes and cycling paraphernalia. Read its rules and use it.

Common debates
There are a series of common threads. Such as bikes on paths, bikes in cycle lanes, bikes vs. cars, helmet use. A more comprehensive list can be found here. Please read these and consider whether you've anything new to add before posting

Racing threads
- Please do not insert race results / incidents in thread titles - do insert spoiler in your thread title if you intend to discuss a live race.
- If posting in general race threads, use spoiler tags.
- If you do this, the mods will presume it was a deliberate attempt to spoil someone elses enjoyment, and will ban you for the duration of a grand tour.

Medical Advice
-we appreciate the temptation to seek other peoples experiences for low level physical problems that present themselves. But no one here is in a position to physically assess and diagnose you. You risk greater harm than good. These threads will be locked.

There are boundaries to discussions here to what is and what is not allowed.

What is not allowed is as follows:

Advertising
- Topics/posts that contain this will be both edited and locked. If you wish to buy add space, contact advertATboards.ie .

Flaming
- Posts containing personal attacks on another user will be edited/deleted. The term "bitter old husk" is acceptable as a form of mild rebuke.

Spamming
- Topics/posts that are just complete nonsense will be deleted.

Racism
- Topics/posts containing such will be edited/deleted accordingly.

Porn
- Topics/posts containing such will be deleted on sight.

Off Topic
- Posts that stray off topic will be edited/deleted, depending on their relevance to the topic at hand

Stupidity
- If you do something pretty dumb, especially after being warned, you may be banned (edit: Trojan, 15/09/06)

Relentless negativity
- Whilst we all like a good bitch and a spirited debate, the main purpose of this forum is to support, encourage and entertain. Posters who offer nothing but relentless negativity may have their posts deleted and/or receive bans. (edit: Lumen, 01/12/09)
