I am still waiting on a delivery from amazon.co.uk. I ordered some computer parts on 2nd January 2005 and they gave a estimated delivery date of Jan 6 to Jan 9. Got a email shortly afterwards advising it was sent.

Still no delivery. Where do I stand. I emailed them but no reply. At what stage can I get a chargeback against them? Whats the usual form for this type of problem?

    Thanks
    Monty Burns

Surely this is something that is to be taken up with An Post/Royal Mail before Amazon?

I would email them again - there's a section in 'my account' whereby it gives a specific email address if you have not received a delivery. This happened to me when ordering the star wars trilogy and they then re-sent it at priority airmail at no extra cost. Had it 2 days after initial email saying it hadnt been received.

Have found them pretty good over matters like this - definitly try and contact them again

It takes up to a month for packages to get to the USA by surfacemail. Airmail is probably about 10 days. I am assuming your location is correct

    Got this reply from amazon:
    Dear Customer

    Thank you for contacting Amazon.co.uk.

We are sorry that you have not yet received your order #202-xxxxxxx-
    xxxxxxx.

We can confirm that it was sent from our Fulfilment Centre on January
04, 2005 to the following address:

    Mr Burns

    xxxxxxxxxxx
    Ireland

We're happy to provide tracking information for our customers when
possible, but Deutsche Post deliveries do not have tracking numbers.
As listed on the website, we estimate a delivery time of 3-5 working
days for these packages. Unfortunately, in spite of all of our
efforts, there can sometimes be unforeseen delays, and in this case
we would ask that you wait a little longer.

If your package does not arrive, please contact us by visiting the
following URL to confirm that it has not been received and that your
delivery address is correct for your order, so we can investigate and
    take the appropriate action:

Thats so bogus! No tracking numbers? Where do I go from here?

Ok, the goods were shipped on the 4th and haven't arrived yet. That's not unusual with An Post in the state that they're in at the moment. Generally things from Amazon take a week, but lately, all deliveries I've received take more. The amount of things that never arrive has also increased. (ahem, an post sticky fingers)

Give it another day or two, and then follow up as advised. Anytime I've dealt with an internet site over lost goods, they've always resent the items or refunded me (fair play to play.com and cdwow).

Not bogus at all. Amazon stuff from the UK comes as regular airemail via Royal Mail. Stuff from Amazon.fr comes through La Poste. Remember that Deutsche Post own DHL and through that operate a slow small packet service which doesn't have tracking as part of its offering - I got a PS2 from them before Christmas and it took around 7-8 days to come from Germany.

Some Deutsche Post/DHL stuff comes through An Post, some seems to hit Interlink and some DHL itself...

In fairness that should read "Postal Sticky Fingers" - after all there is a lot of scope for things to be whipped before they get to Ireland.

    Got another reply from amazon:
    Dear Customer

Thank you for contacting Amazon.co.uk and for bringing this to our
    attention.

It does appear that something may have gone awry with the delivery of
your order #202-xxxxxxx-xxxxxxx- the package should have reached you
    by now.

I have placed a new order #025-xxxxxxx-xxxxxxx for the same item to
be sent to the same delivery address:

We will post it to you as soon as possible at no additional charge.

To view the availability time and an estimation of the dispatch date
of your order, please visit Your Account at the top of any page on our
website or use the following URL:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/your-account/

Click on "Open and recently dispatched orders" and sign in with your
e-mail address and password. You will then be able to view a delivery
estimate below the heading "Items Not Yet Dispatched". Simply click on
the name of the item below the delivery estimate to view the current
    availability time.

If the original package should arrive, before the replacement has been
dispatched, please cancel your replacement order via the "Cancel items
or orders" link under the "Where's My Stuff" section of Your Account.

If the original package should arrive afterwards, please visit our
Help Desk to view instructions on how to return the item.
