Is there anyone here from around the Nenagh/Surrounding area?
I wouldnt mind getting a few people together, finding a flying site and getting it registered with MACI.Im not looking to form a big club just a site to meet up with a few other people and fly.I find it really hard to get a place to fly. Anyone else in the same boat as me that would be interested in doing this?

    Hi Hakko
I was talking to Steve in the Tipperary model shop (Steves Hobbies) and he just told me that he has a pal who is willing to do the paperwork to get a new flying field registered, licenced, etc for you.
This guy is apparently a member of the club that already exists in the other end of the county, so he is familiar with the procedures .
This might be a help. ;)

This is one of those "where to start " problems.

Why don't you go join the club in south Tipperary, that gets you the help, the runway, and the insurance. :)
Then get permission from a friendly farmer for flying in a local field.

Practise at weekends in the club (special modelling trip), and in the evenings in the local field just down the road.
If you are flying (with landowners permission) your insurance from the club covers you.
And if you are flying locally tongues will wag and soon everybody in the locality will know that you are "the aircraft guy" and they will come to you to ask about flying there.
No need to rush, just do some flying and let it happen in its own time.
