    The schedule....

RAG week is finally here - hopefully this year’s will be very successful. The concept of RAG (Raising and Giving) week is that students will raise money for charity. This year’s charity is the TCD Tsunami Appeal so hopefully everyone will enjoy themselves and at the same time do their bit for charity. Here’s a list of all that’s hot this week:

    Monday:

The cheapest comedy night in Dublin, starring Dave Mc Savage, Dave O’Doherty, Reuben, Neil Delamere and Karl Spain. Davis Theatre (Arts Block) at 7. Will cost you only a fiver. Jazz night in the Buttery with D.U Jazz Soc. Set to be a cracker. Starts at 8pm.

    Tuesday:

Fanfare please! Today sees the launch of the inaugural BESS Day. All the action kicks off with an attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the biggest ever Waterballoon fight. This will take place at 2.30pm in Front Square and over 993 people are needed to break the current record. Everyone taking part gets lots of water balloons, a free ticket to the record breakers ball and is invited to a reception in the GMB afterwards

BESS Day debate in the GMB at 6 featuring John O’Shea of GOAL. Action continues in the Buttery at 8 with the world famous Stevie Strange and his incredible freakshow. Then it’s up to the Redbox for a night of partying.

    Wednesday:

Watch out for the attempt to make 100 metres of euro coins in Front Square. In the Buttery at 8 we will have Stevie Star. Stevie is a world famous hypnotist who has appeared on Letterman in the past. Wednesday night sees the return of last year’s most popular night out - The Traffic Light Ball - in Redz. Tickets are €5 from the SU shop and €7 on the door. Starts at 10.

    Thursday:

Watch out for the DUCAC walk in the afternoon. Our weekly free live music continues with The Chalets supported by the Rags and Polar, kicking off at 8 pm.

Thursday night is the RAG ball in the POD, Harcourt Street at 11. Organised this year in association with the JCR it looks set to be a big one. The line up includes the Next Men who are the hip hop version of 2 Many D.J.s and Aran Mc Mahon (the funkiest D.J. Ireland has ever seen). Tickets €7 from SU shop or €9 on the door.

    Friday:

Live music in the Buttery at 8pm. This will feature the Revs and also French indie/electronic outfit Angle.
