Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

NTL BB & D-Link Router + PCI card

Ok so Ive had NTL BB for over 2 years now, and its my baby in the ged room and all that. I decided to allow the family access to it recently, as Im leaving the country and it wont affect me then.

So off to elara I head and buy a D-Link DI-514 router and a DWL-520+ PCI card.

So begin my installations etc, set up router on my bedroom, win2k, machine. Run into a few problems with the MAC address but that is solved when I realised I should have put in the MAC adress of the router not the Modem, dumb me. Get internet back up and running as quick as ever on my upstairs PC.
SO all this is going far too easy. Off I head to the family PC, Win XP Home, open the box install the drivers etc, and install the card.

And NOTHING the downstairs PC cannot even remotely see the upstairs box.

I know its probably something simple but what am I fuxoring up?

Try a completely open network to start with. Broadcast SSID, no encryption, no MAC filtering, 100% power output on both router and card. If it connects then start adding your security measures, one-by-one.

yep...i had to do what seamus said...

to be honest i started with a total reconfigure to factory setting and put in bare ip info to get it working.

there should be a reset pin hole to reset default config if you want to begin again...i could not remeber half of the changes (oops)

it is working now...as this response is a testiment....
