    Hello all,
Just a little intro for anybody reading this. Basically, i found these boards at the weekend, i decided to have a bet and thought id do a quick search on the net. This is the first time i have had a bet since i got this cpu a couple of months ago, so i thought id put it to good use. I came across these boards and had a read, i found a tip for Saturdays racing, it was blue canyon i think. So i thought, ok, i'll just have ago, but i put it in a double with ashley brook for a fiver. Then blue canyon won at 8-1, and then ashley brook let me. It could've been a nice little win, but still thats the way it goes some times. Thanks to the person who left that tip, although i didn't win it was a nice little buzz for a saturday afternoon. My problem is though, trying to get used to these boards, i cant find that thread anywhere again? Im not sure why?

I have done some more reading in this section and see that fade2black seems to be able to come up trumphs in a few threads, top work mate. Im sure i'll be able to come up with some good tips every now and then, i used to bet about £80 week when i was abot younger, with some success, however im not the type of person who can just look in the paper and pick out top horses and have a flutter. I tend to see what is being backed and what is being tipped in the papers etc, and used to work with a couple of people who had good knoledge. I used to really enjoy gambling when i could afford to do it all the time.

Now, from reading that i expect you are wondering how i will be able to provide you with tips? Well, basically i am very close with someone in the betting industry, I dont get tips all the time, and mainly in summer i only had 5 tips in total from july last year, but 4 out of the 5 won. All from 6-1 to 12-1, so as i say, not regular, but well worth a couple of quid when i get them!

So hopefully i will see you around the boards, still unsure why i cant find the thread about saturday but im sure i'll suss it out! I guess there is more action in this racing part at the weekends, am i right?

    Take it easy!

    Welcome to the forum.

Sorry about Ashley Brook, that was my tip. :o
But don't desert him, he's a seriously good horse. He blatantly needs further than 2 miles but still ran well on Saturday, beaten only 1/2 a length giving 5 lbs to the winner and would have passed him in another 50 yards.

Welcome Topdog. Have fun and remember while a huge part of the HorseRacing industry relvolves around the tipping and betting on horses, there is also a lot more involved. I am lucky enough to work for a racing publication and I can appreciate the industry as a whole. WRT to tipping, a lot of factors go into tipping a horse. Mostly I look at the form of a particular horse. Cross reference that with the track history of the horse, the type of ground he/she seems to like and perform well on and of course the fella steering the yoke on his back. Other times I just say "feck it" and stick a pin in the paper. A good reference site for horse form is www.irishracing.com . Have a look at the stats on the horses and make up your own mind. Anyhoo enjoy the forum!!
