Problems with a wierd icon!

Hello all having trouble with an icon on my taskbar is there a cure ? its a small black icon right next to my msnmessenger 6.0 version. I have a pic just cant upload it ( The icon is a small black box).
Well i dunno can i explain anymore but try to help lads please

can you right click it? it maybe an unwanted program running in the background, when you hover the mouse over it does it say anything?

it says msn messenger 6.0 not signed in but theres a msn messenger 6.0 thats working along side it and thats working properly

have you installed any programs recently, ie right before you noticed this icon, it maybe just a msn glitch that will dissapear after a restart, or it may be something more sinister

last thing installed was windows update,

but sinister in what way

Em if i close it, it closes both icons the active normal messenger and the black icon'd 1

You might try reinstalling messenger.

I think its just a glitch with msn messenger, try uninstalling it and get messenger 7.0
