It would be nice to allow my client the ability to change some parts of the website himself. Its for a secondary school and I guess *some* pages would be changed now and again.

Something that can be implemented into individual pages where required, with some kind of secure access.

Anyone know of good open source products for this?

Something like http://www.htmlarea.com/, if you want to roll your own basic CMS .. or something like http://typo3.org/ if you want a comprehensive CMS.

I use a nice little product from InnovaStudio. You can buy the WYSIWYG editor on its own or get it built into a CMS. It's a nice little CMS: you login, browse around your site as normal, find the page you want to edit, click the edit button (that shows after you have logged in), and you have immediate access to edit the content! The editor is best online editor I have used... looks and functional wise!! :)

In contribute you can lock parts of the design and only allow selected parts to be edited. It also includes a simple graphics editing function for placing images.
Best of all for most clients is that it works and feels like a cross between word and IE so they have no problem in using it.
