Nice story from the Meath Chronicle:
Meath Local Sports Partnership (MLSP) handed out bursaries of E11,500 to five prospective elite Meath athletes at the Ardboyne Hotel, Navan last Thursday evening.
Recipients of the awards included Eamonn Prunty, Hugh Forde, Mark Kehoe, Ryan Lynn and Susan Cunningham representing investment in waterskiing, modern pentathlon, tandem cycling and target shooting.
Four disciplines which could flippantly be described as minority sports, but all enjoy international recognition.
Target shooting, a sport operating from a small base in Meath through Wilkinstown Target Shooting Club had twice as many reasons to celebrate.

Lynn is the current Irish junior champion and is a member of the Irish training squad while Cunningham has the potential to become a future Irish Olympian. She will represent Ireland at the British Open next month.

Meath LSP was established four years ago under the auspices of the Irish Sports Council (ISC). Meath LSP comprises members of statutory, voluntary and sports organisations and a strategic plan was launched in 2003.

That plan will be due for revision next year as the initial document covered the period to 2005. The annual general meeting will take place next March and a discussion about the preparation of a new plan is likely to be included on the agenda.
