    From producer Kevin Shirley -

"Some Dream Theater news! Dream Theater Live At Budokan DVD was officially certified Platinum yesterday! Here's something fun - when we were mixing the album, Mike Portnoy told me about a hidden "nugget" in the recording - and none of the guys in the band knew. Here it is -

    this is the nugget.

In the song ‘In The Name Of God’, from 5.51 - 6.07 he taps out EAT MY ASS AND BALLS * EAT MY ASS AND BALLS in Morse code.

The pattern breaks down like this:

    ..
    .--.-.......--.-..-....-.-...-..... (from 5:51 - 5:59)

    ..
    .--.-.......--.-..-....-.-...-..... (from 5:59 - 6:07)

    Mikey-Mike, you're so rude!!!!”

I tried putting that through the Morse Code Translator but it didn't work.

Did you put spaces between the letters and slashes between the words like it says?

Hmph, the first one translated to UOKKSSWRRSKSDS. Either it's not Morse or I'm still doing something wrong and I refuse to think I can be anything less than perfect.

Just go to the text to Morse, write it out and compare.

*chance to show off his puny c-programming skills*

I don't need to use an online translator. I cross checked it with an old college project i did and it works.

Morse code translator . You can only use it if you have some version of MS Visual C.

But still, thats pretty cool. The nearest Ive heard to something as impressive as that is the fibonacci series appearing in Tool's Lateralus. Danny's drum beats were supposed to resemble the numbers but from what I can hear, it's the number of syllables in Maynards lines.

    here it is:

    . .- - / -- -.-- / .- ... ... / .- -. -.. / -... .- .-.. .-.. ...

The Fibonacci sequence thing has been done a lot in music, it's a very well known sequence and it's been used in some compositions and even Marilyn Manson had a go supposedly (I remember him mentioning it in an interview talking about Holywood before it came out). Tool are the business though.
