He is always credited with starting rock 'n' roll.
I was wondering if anyone here actually thinks there would
be no Opeth,Pantera or metal at all if it wasn't for him.

Elvis didn't start rock n roll. He popularised it for white people. He certainly had a big effect on the history of rock n roll but I'm sure if he hadn't been around someone else would have done it.

Elvis was always incredibly over-rated, the whole thing in the states with The Church Of Elvis and everything is beyond a joke. His image and status are pumped up beyond belief.

He was nothing more than the music of the time, with a white man front lining it, he was good at what he done and a first for his time, but he wasnt anything amasing. And definately, definately over rated.
