    Hi all,

    I'm trying to put together a tape of the most dramatic classical pieces- real uplifitng stuff guaranteed to send the shivers down your spine

    I am sure the original poster has graduated to an iPod by now. That was 2005!


    Anyway, here are two pieces that may not be uplifting but they certainly send shivers down my spine:
    1. Tchaikovsky - Manfred Symphony in B minor, Op. 58 (1st movt. Lento lugubre)
    2. Grieg - Funeral March in memory of Rikard Nordraak in A minor
