Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

DVD Playback problems

I recently changed the motherboard in my families pc. I bought a new one as I had problems with the ide ports on my last one. However after piecing all the old components onto the new motherbaord and loading a fresh copy of windows xp on to it i've had trouble with playing dvd's and avi files. The playback is jumpy and unwatchable. The processes responsible for playback ie. Windows Media Player and Power DVD 5 use up almost 100% of the cpu during playback. I had no problems with this before the change. I've tested the cpu speed with software and it clocks in at round 496mhz which is bout right considering there was other software running during hte test. Even mozilla firefox jumps to bout 99% cpu usage when loading pages and using flash animation. My graphics card drivers are loaded properly. Ie, I have a Nvidia Riva TNT2 with teh lates drivers installed. Below is a list of my hardware components obtained from using Nero infoTool. Bear in mind i've chequed the processes and services running in the background and there is no spyware and viruses. My system runs stabily.Anyone know whats up?
