Are you aware of the hibernian motor quote online

    http://www.hiberniandirect.ie/direct/HibernianDirectWeb/homepage.jsp

I don't think even the mark one golf is 1 litre, I think you're lookin for a polo.

How long is a piece of string?

Car insurance is based on your individual circumstances, the insurance company who are quoting you, etc, there is no template, its a lottery.

PS You cannot get a 1.0 Golf. They come in 1.4 and up.

It mainly depends on your age and where you live.

Without that we can't even begin to guess.

Quinn direct will, but they'll quote you high.
Ignore the online system slade-x, and ring every insurer you can find. As comanche says, most don't quote online for anything but fully qualified (and often fully-NCB'd) drivers, but they will quote if you ring them.

Try Glennons - www.glennon.ie - I got an excellent quote from them (via Allianz) on a 1.6 Golf and it was my first time getting my own policy, but with 5 years driving, 3 years named.

Got quoted from Quinn Direct on fully comprehensive insurance at €2900..
oh the joys of spending more on insurance than the actual car!
