Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

cant find any specific answers to this question so hopefully someone will have dealt with it before....

I have a netopia 3347 [eircom] wireless router,
im setting up forwarding for the various apps I use.
is there a way to ensure my laptop gets the same ip all the time?
there will be 4 more pcs on the network soon so i wnat to be sure of any problems.

    thanks

Under your laptops Network Settings you could turn off automatic IP addressing and set a specific one... Use one that won't be automatically assaigned, i.e. set the last digits to anything in the range 5 and above.

will that work without casuing problems with the router?

as long as i have 192.168.1.xxx it wont interfere with the dhcp?

Shouldn't do, afaik. As long as you make sure to assaign a higher address than the number of computers (so that there won't be any accidental reassaignment, or clashes should the laptop come on second with the same address) that will be connected it should work fine.

I don't know if you can do it with the Netopia (I guess...) but you can also assign a fix IP to your laptop wifi card MAC address.
