Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back a page or two to re-sync the thread and this will then show latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

XP/Media Player 10 won't play video for some MPG movies

I tried to play this mpg movie (2.3MB) from Yahoo! UK/Ireland's Office Attachments site but all I get is a still frame from the start of the movie while sound plays normally.

Over the weekend I installed XP Service Pack 2. I now have Windows Media Player 10 (I guess SP2 installed v10 over v9).
WMV movies are fine. I've reinstalled WMP v10 but no difference.
It only appears to happen for files where File/Properties lists the video codec as "MPEG Video Decoder". Ones with DivX codec are fine.
DivX Player 2.6 has the same issue so it must be something with the MPEG Video Decoder.

I suppose I could uninstall SP2 since I don't use the firewall portion (I am NAT'd behind my wireless router).

    Any suggestions?
