Simple enough, anyone know where I can get some? I heard of a yeast company on Pearse st. Would they have it?

Also anyone much aware of the distillation laws of this country?

Any health food shop should stock it. I very much doubt you'd get it in the Dublin Yeast Company (which is on College Street).

They sell live yeast in the Irish Yeast Company - is that the same thing as Brewer's Yeast?

No idea, although I presume so. I remember it as a suggested remedy for cold sores, mixed with water and swallowed down.
