You might have problems if you're in an area which has 3G coverage on O2, but AFAIK the network isn't live just yet. The phone will try to stay on a 3G cell but you won't be able to use it because you're on prepaid. This has been a problem with Ready to Go users and 6630 phones.

Luckily, there is a Series 60 app which can lock a 3G Nokia phone on GSM so you should be able to get it going, at least for making and receiving calls.
