Gish is a good album, dont like all the songs on it though, like Siva, I am One, Rhinocerous. Daydream is a bit of a strange song hence D'Arcy is singing on it, i listened to that song over and over the day it was announced she was leaving the band

for that reason i always start with song 3 on rotten apples,,, not a bad attempt at greatest hits but needed a few changes

Now thats a name I havent heard for a long time... top band,,, not grunge though

Debatable. I mean, if we're accepting the Pumpkins having anything to do with grunge proper, then kerbdog should be in there somewhere. (I can see how you'd argue against them being grunge, what with Battle not having a smack addict or an inspirational best friend who snuffed it at the hands of hardcore drugs. But nonetheless - to me, they were grunge. I never really worked out what exactly made a band grunge or not grunge though, so ICBW)

    Therapy? - Troublegum

Probably not what you'd call grunge, but from the grunge era nonetheless.

Meat Puppets - Too High to Die(1994)

(I know it's not exactly grunge, more alt rock, but it was around the same time as grunge and they toured with Nirvana/played with them on unplugged and THTD is a brilliant album)

If its just an album from the grunge era then slanted & enchanted by pavement or dirty by sonic youth

    ^Dirty is a great album :D

I can't believe it was the 3rd page before Sonic Youth were mentioned. Although they probably wouldn't want to be called a grunge band.

For me, grunge was a dirty, bass-y guitar sound. Sonic Youth were (and are) great at it. Nirvana did it well. The Melvins too. Pearl Jam are just a rock band that happen to come from Seattle.

(In '91 I saw Nirvana support Sonic Youth in the Top Hat in Dún Laoghaire. Marvellous!!!)
