Judging from the amount of anything we got done during study (ie, watching films with breaks like... 20 minutes long) I'm wondering would anything happen in class at all... although 'twould be cool.

I can't believe they brought in Drama the year I'm a nevermore. It's the only course I would have loved even more than I loved Writing for Life.

Damn world, did it just to spite me!

    *shakes fist at...stuff*

Wow, I just read the description of Speculative Fiction. I had thought it was just writing for life with another name. That is so definately my first choice now

What are other people thinking of doing?

    Psychology
    Philosophy
    Speculative Fiction Writing

In that order. I'm not putting down a fourth choice because last time they actually gave it to me, and it sucked ass.

I'm debating between Comp Apps and Pysch as my first choice, can any one who's done either of these gimme a little advice?

/edit I think it'll actually be between SF and Psych

    philosophy. reluctantly.

  • Registered Users Posts: 748 ✭✭✭Zounds

    why reluctantly? Philosophy rocks

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 975 ✭✭✭Plunky

    No, that would be geology...

  • Registered Users Posts: 748 ✭✭✭Zounds

all sciences are a type of philosophy and vice versa

Comp app rocks, but only if your class isn't full of the idiotic scummy 12-14 year olds I had last year. Otherwise, if you like maths, like your pc and like the satisfaction of doing things people have already done just cause you can do it, if it makes sense, it rocks so much. I still program because of it.

  • Registered Users Posts: 748 ✭✭✭Zounds

i mildly dislike maths but i despise idiotic 12-14yr olds (I am fully aware of the irony of this statement considering the reputation i still carry from my younger years (they tell me i'm much more tolerable these days :) )) and as much as i like computers i think psych or SF would be more my kinda class

Com apps is unreal, seariously zounds, i haven't done the other subjects nut com apps is a really good course.,. :D

yah, i've gone from wanting to do it, to not, to being talked back into it. As i want to get into computers professionally i think that'll be my first choice and i'll put SF and psych as alts

Sorry Gummybearz, but these kids really were. They abused my teacher, my TA and the whole place in general. Didn't appreciate anything, pissed off everyone.

    Abusing some TA's is fun.

Anyone remember Emily in IR, this year?

Yeah, it was so funny what we did in study. What were you talking about when Clom entered the room and told us to keep it down or else? Something embarrassing if I remember rightly. That was hilarious!!! :D

    Operation Porn.

haha matt remember when you sent "i wonder if our ta's head will explode" to all our computers during study and she saw? god that was hilarious.

Are there any Americans who took legal studies last year, because it's currently my top choice and I was wondering if it was worth it, since it's mostly about the Irish legal system.

wouldn't that make it even more worth it?

there were about three americans in our legal studies this year and altought they enjoyed it they were seriusly lost for a lot of it bcuz loads of the heated discussions were about the IRA and other stuff like tht they wouldnt really have felt too strongly about

i think if you guys had been nicer to emily, we would have got more truffles. and ali would have got more migraines. you big meanies

I'd definately recommend philosophy to anyone even vaguely considering it; i don't see how you could possibly not enjoy it.
I'm so pissed off Writing for Life isn't on in sess 2, it's like the official nevermore course. But Speculative Fiction seems to be the next big thing, so let's go for that one. I just hope it doesn't involve work. That'd be disgustingly horrible.
