I had no idea what the poetry was about in my irish paper 2.
My maths paper 2 had a flaw in one question.
    Um.
The essay titles weren't great for english.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 549 ✭✭✭declan_lgs

I taught the essay titles were *excellent* (for me) ...
I got my M$ rant in (well... I did it alot crapper than ever before, but I don't think I failed, which is good...)...
There was more than enough essay essays (?) rather than story essays which is unusual.
I cannot write stories... hate 'em

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,851 ✭✭✭PurpleFistMixer

I'd be more of the story writing type myself.

New complaint. My geography paper had too much to do with volcanoes and other topics I don't know on it. It had an entire long question dedicated SOLELY to volcanoes. It's just wrong.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 549 ✭✭✭declan_lgs

yea there was alot of volcanos in geography...

anyhow, in technical graphics, on the translations question, on the rotations part, there was no flippin point mentioned to rotate the figure around. Wasn't too hard to guess what point to use, but that's not the point...
Also, on question six one of the measurements was completely wrong (since when was 30mm bigger than 80mm?)...
Stupit fecking mistakes like that

jesus geography i think i got the same paper as u whole question on volcanoes then on climate stuff?!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 549 ✭✭✭declan_lgs

Huh? What 30mm? This is the only 30mm and 80mm can find. Presuming the papers were the same.
not the same question, what a coincidence lol :D

Yeah the second part where they ask you to prepare a trial balance was meant to be 3E. They called it out for us, so we could fix it.
    That question was evil anyway.

In our Bus q their was a cost of transport q and the cost had to be divided over a certain number. It gave sumthin like Euro 2.968765 but if you change one figure it works out at three. Idiots!

Yeah, that was pretty crazily unfair.
However, the tracks were on the OS map, you could have found them with that.

They mark some questions harder than others? o.o

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,248 ✭✭✭4Xcut

To be fair to the dept they don't usually don't make mess ups like the ones on the mocks, which are written by teachers who are either too stupid or too lazy to check if their questions make sense. But try telling them that when THEY tell you to check YOUR answers

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 78,511 ✭✭✭✭Victor

Well if some questions work out more difficult than others, they will be marked easier. If **everyone** gets an answer right, one has to still work out who the better students are by picking out those who went that little bit further and gave fuller answers.

Folks, its the mocks, a trial run. doesn't matter a damn what you get in them its the actual junior cert you need to worry about. Once your mocks are finished, FUGGEDDABOUDIT!

THE TRAIN TRACKS WERE EASY TO FIND IN THE KILLARNEY MAP!!!

THEY WERE RIGHT THERE WITH THE TREES AROUND IT...........

IT SORT OF LOOKED LIKE A ROAD OR TRAIN TRACK OF SOME TYPE!!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 22,479 ✭✭✭✭philologos

on the killarney map i thought it was quite clear but I only did the ordinance survey question on killarney and on business paper 2 my teacher gave us the 2004 mock exam paper which was incredibly tough like really hard as opposed to the past jc papers

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,958 ✭✭✭Fobia

For geography we didn't get a normal mock exam, the teacher is a good one and knows that the short answer questions were too easy so instead he gave us 6 long answer questions for the exam....2 hours long so 20 mins per question or summit. Obviously it was harder than the normal one as there were no choices of questions but it was a good measure of our ability...and I think that's what the mocks are there for. Drawing 2 sketch maps was hard on the'ol head though :)

How many marks were going for finding train tracks tbh?

the wordsearch on the CSPE paper was too hard :P (obviously being sarcastic)
