My exit hand. Maybe if I'd had ciggarettes I might have folded. Still the blinds were murdering me at that stage anyways so was probably a decent idea at the time.

Ok, as Grand Tournament Winner, my first decree is that people should stop posting their exit hands. It's embarassing! Those calls look much worse now than they did in game!

  • Registered Users Posts: 27,645 ✭✭✭✭nesf

    yup :)

I'm rereading mine with disbelief. Normally I fold JT's like the plague.

If one person should post up the hand they went out on, it's Muso. Twas a beautiful hand.... :D;):p

Fun fun tournie. I shoulda went out first but held on by my fingernails to watch 5 others go out before me.

I hate the PokerStars interface though - I must be too used to PartyPoker.

Can't remember it actually. Oh allright:-

    Hero:- AQo
    Lucky Fish (Villian): - 8c8h

    Flop:-
    xhQdxh
    Turn:- xh
    River:- xh

Lucky Fish (Villian) wins and sends hero packing but as in all hero movies he will return (when some kid with sad eyes asks where he went) to save the day next time.

The characters in this hand history are not intended to represent any real poker players.

I was looking like the first out before you. It seemed like there weree a few of us hanging in for ages and then within 10 minutes there was 7 or 8 of us gone.

Thanks again for organising Mike! I reckon your's was the worst beat to go out on as well.

Thankyou all for turning up ! I have put one up for Sunday at 8pm. Unfortunately I won't be able to play due to prior romantic commitments that I forgot about.
There will also be one every Tuesday at 8pm and every Sunday at 7pm. All except the last Sunday of the month will be $10 entry. End of the month Sunday's will be $20.
I will sort out a league table format which will take into acoount everybodys top 10 finishes, once we have had a few I will start to publish it after every game. If numbers are good I am sure that Pokerstars may give us something for the best overall player.
In future all games will be called 'Boards 'x'day tournie' and until further notice password will be 'shortstack'.
If anybody wants a private game organised then let me know at least 3 hours in advance. My email is here

Can I assume that doesn't mean today, but starting next Tuesday?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,297 ✭✭✭ionapaul

I'll probably play most Sundays. The double-chance tournie in the Fitz might compel my presence on Tuesday nights.

Two a week is going to be too much I reckon...

Also I think we should move the day around as Monday would suit some (me!) and not others (eg: LaFortezza), as would any day of the week.

    DeV.

I didn't realise there was a Holdem tournie in the Fitz on a Tuesday, thought it was still the draw competition. The only reason I am putting up 2 a week is that some can only play weekends and some the opposite so it gives everyone a chance to play. As long as there is at least a STT in each one then I will keep putting one up for you all to play in. I am completely open to suggestions about which is the best day to hold the midweek one, maybe another poll is in order ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,531 ✭✭✭Drakar

I like the idea of moving it around every couple of weeks, gives most people the chance to play.

The way I looked at the Shortstack call btw was I figured it was 685 to call, when I had 8800+, with a chance of winning 1185 + solid gold surfboard hand etched with signature by Mr Hasselhoff for taking the head. How could one not call?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,506 ✭✭✭Shortstack

The call was good with that size of stack. I have absolutely no problem with it, however it was not neccesary to hit both my cards on the flop and then for a 10:1 shot to hit on the river ! Never fear I will get you back with a one outer sometime in the near future !

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,531 ✭✭✭Drakar

We'll see about that; I hereby announce my retirement from the bloodthirsty cut and thrust of online poker.... er wait I don't think I can do that.

They are on Pokerstars, next one is Sunday at 8pm then they will follow the schedule in the 'sticky'. I still have a few little goodies to give away so I think the next one will go on the reigning champ heads - Drakar (lirril on stars). That is as long as he is going to defend his crown.
