Well it official the upgrade is now complete on Ballymun and is live as of now. Could you people who were having bad service please try some down loads and post the results.. PS I sorted out the PM thing thanks.

All is well in the world again. This is an mtr to my home which (finally) shows no packet loss :)

    Host Loss% Snt Avg
    1. hosting-gw.compsoc.com 0.0% 30 0.7
    2. vlan57.rt001.cwt.esat.net 0.0% 30 15.4
    3. ge1-0.core002.cwt.esat.net 0.0% 30 0.3
    4. pos2-0.br001.inex.esat.net 0.0% 30 2.1
    5. 193.1.208.197 0.0% 30 2.0
    6. 62.231.52.126 0.0% 30 4.1
    7. 62.231.32.146 0.0% 30 5.9
    8. 62.231.52.174 0.0% 29 9.9
    9. 83.141.80.214 0.0% 29 17.2

The smokeping graph attached shows the fix in packetloss since approx 14:42

Kone, go to a ligitimate site and DL a file :- www.download.com

and post some pings and tracerts

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,372 ✭✭✭Kone

Pings to boards ranging from 10 to 60, best I've seen!

Tracert is kinda flakey on some hops but looking much better!

Download was going from 62 to 100kb/s on 2.6mb file from Download.com

Things are looking up! I hope they stay like this!

Would this upgrade effect the Ripwave users too?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,259 ✭✭✭Shiny

Something definately happened after 3 pm today.

My upload speed was flaky (25k ish) for the last 2 weeks and
suddenly at around half 3 it went crazy and maxed out at 113k!!

    I'm happy. :)

wanna see if the back hauled you through blanch and onto Talllaght ?

Well if that is the situation sorted for those on the ballymum mast I am happy for them. Still curretnly getting 50dl and 27 ul on Blanch atrim with a sussposed
1 meg connection, and the pings were so erratic game play last night was
impossile in a fps game and very jarring in neverwinter nights.

Glad you got the abusive PMs sorted Wise man, but you still never answered aany of the 3 I sent you.

Well i rang them at 4pm and they told me that the ballymun connection had been fixed 10 mins ago and that the atrium in blanch should also be sorted now as well and if not i was to ring them back. As i was in work at the time i rang them i couldent check. I checked it at 8:30 it was still 512/256 connection. When i rang back at 8:45 i was on hold till 9 and then I just hung up. So the saga goes on........

Yeah thanks wise man you also sorted out my connection good download speeds now well worth paying the money for them. Still having a minor ping problem in gaming but im still looking into that and will get on to you when I have more info, as per my PM.

    So thanks again!

Yeah my dloads are still great today. Im having a ping time out problem still but wise man is looking into it for me but otherwise every thing is good again. Any one else on the atrium getting the of ping time out? While most of the pings are great it happens every 10 - 15 seconds. Or is it just me? Anyway im sure its not a bif deal to sort Wise man is on the case!

This is what I'm getting at the moment and web pages are taking forever to load, was nearly 5mins for boards to load up..is it just me or anyone else now having problems again.

BTW..how do you reset the radio...theres a reset similar to what you'd find on a zen etc..is that how you reset ? does it need to be powered up when doing so ?

If its not just tme having these problems looks like Dapper was right :(

This is what I'm getting at the moment and web pages are taking forever to load, was nearly 5mins for boards to load up..is it just me or anyone else now having problems again.

BTW..how do you reset the radio...theres a reset similar to what you'd find on a zen etc..is that how you reset ? does it need to be powered up when doing so ?

If its not just tme having these problems looks like Dapper was right :(

wow, here are mine at the moment, with nothing downloading etc...

To reset you need to power off the receiver for about 10 mins and wait. Then power it on !! Wait and reconnect !!

Man if i was getting pings anywhere near those quoted above i'd be going mad. I just ran a test there on mine 3rock and am getting:

Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
    Minimum = 8ms, Maximum = 66ms, Average = 24ms

But thats while downloading a file at 100K~

Normally to boards i get an average of 5-7ms

One of you should send the link to this forum to mailto:sales@irishbroadband.ie (only address i ever get replies from)
